Tutelage
“Tutelage” 2023
Mixed media on canvas
91cm x 91cm
Under the tutelage of my creative instincts, I refrained from adding much more to this painting beyond its initial start and the carefully laid textural groundwork. I sensed it required no further embellishment, and in such instances, you must embrace that intuition!
The artwork didn't revolve around any particular theme; rather, it served as an expression of ideas and a burst of color after several months of artistic dormancy. The finishing touches and lines took inspiration from the dazzling fireworks I saw with my children at the Perth Royal Show. The experience was truly exhilarating, and it marked my closest encounter with fireworks.
The vibrant display was complemented by an eclectic musical backdrop, deviating from the usual commercial classics. The inclusion of drum and bass, along with heavy techno, breathed life into the spectacle, creating a memorable fusion of visual and auditory delight.
