It's up to you

A$4,700.00

2024
Mixed media on canvas
120cm x 120cm

Finalist in the National Contemporary Art Prize, 2024

Uncertainty was my only compass with this painting. From inception, this painting proved to be a challenge, testing the bounds of my confidence and resolve. Each stroke of the brush felt like a battle against looming self-doubt, wrestling with composition and technique.

Second-guessing every decision and natural instinct. Doubt and frustration waged against my creativity.

Social media only served to compound my struggles, as I found myself constantly comparing my work to that of others. The success and recognition enjoyed by fellow artists served as a constant reminder of my own perceived inadequacies, fueling my insecurity.

With determination, I pushed forward, slowly but surely, the painting began to take shape. A testament to the journey that brought me here, a journey marked by struggle, doubt, and ultimately, success.

In the end, the true measure of this painting lies not in my judgment, but in yours. It is a reflection of my vision, my struggle, my triumph—but its significance is ultimately defined by you. Its true worth is yours to discern.

It's up to you.
