By the sea

A$7,400.00

2024
Mixed media on canvas
150cm x 150cm

Coming straight out of the gate with the bold blue, I wanted this piece to show a strong juxtaposition of developed layering and colour with space and shape—like Fremantle’s ever-changing horizon, where the working port and heritage town meets the deep ocean and open sky.

Throughout this piece, I really felt like I was maturing with my decisions. I was considered, and many ideas were left on the cutting room floor, much like the tide pulling back to reveal only what’s essential.

I didn’t want to overcrowd this work but instead let it slowly come to life—like a sea breeze weaving from the beach, unhurried but full of presence.
