The original painting was pretty striking with heaps of fluid airbrushed lines. It was a bit intense. I liked it, but was probably a bit much in its complexity. So, it offered me a perfect chance to try again and have a bit of fun with the lines and shapes. I intentionally left some of the original painting in the background so you could see what I was working with.
The top jagged shapes are pretty cool. They remind me of the sawtooth warehouses you see in Fremantle. The colours feel very seasonal, like autumn flowers and from a well manicured garden.
I like its new energy this piece brings.
