“I can do that” 2023
Mixed media on board
46cm x 49cm

At first glance, I understand that many people might raise an eyebrow and wonder about if this is art. Yet, behind it all, there is simply a person who found immense joy in the process of creating this small painting.

I spent hours experimenting with various materials such as spray paint, charcoal, glue, sand, oils, acrylics, and found objects. Each layer was built upon the remnants of ideas that didn't quite work out, but I persisted to craft something whimsical. I initially wanted to do something simple. But the pursuit of simplicity proved to be one of the greatest challenges. The more I tried to pare down and refine, the harder it became to find satisfaction.

In the end, this painting stands as a testament to my creative process. While it may elicit shrugs and confusion, it invites viewers to delve beyond the surface and explore the intricate layers of colors, textures, and hidden narratives.

And yes, that circular handle spins!
